For the vast majority of my professional life (27 years), I have worked in the newspaper business – first for The Orlando Sentinel and most recently, The Chapel Hill News.
As the newspaper industry has experienced significant changes, I, too, am making changes in my career by becoming an entrepreneur by beginning my own home repair and maintenance business.
I have always been able to fix things – as a child, I watched my dad repair things and as I grew older, I helped him out as the projects became more and more complicated. I must have paid attention to all that he taught me since I find very little now that I can’t repair. I have simply found a great deal of satisfaction in fixing things and thought that for the next chapter of my life, I’d really like to do something that I enjoy on a daily basis.
While at The Chapel Hill News, I sold Real Estate Advertising to local agents and have developed many wonderful relationships over the course of my advertising tenure. I can look back and say that the foundation to the satisfying business relationships I had with my customers was my dedication to providing attentive customer service.
In the course of working on a business plan for my new business, I knew the secret to this new business' success would be a sincere focus on customer service. After having participated in many conversations with friends and neighbors and colleagues over the years, what most people want when a home service call is needed is prompt and courteous service with affordable prices. I believe strongly in this concept which is why these three words are listed in the banner above, on my business card and on the side of my truck.
